Unfortunately for Mark O'Bryan (senior - Finance), the results did not go as he had hoped after he invested his entire "nest egg" in the stock market in May 2008.

PSU "Green" Initiative Off to Promising Start
One student's idea may see PSU becoming a little greener, and sooner than you think.
University Park, PA-- Until recently, maintaining a green lifestyle in the world of academia has been considered all but impossible by many students. However, Trey Mogus (junior - Marketing) has found an approach that might be feasible, and with the necessary funding his plan could be implemented campus-wide by 2011.
Proponents of green living advocate minimizing the use of the Earth's natural resources by society and individuals by reducing their carbon footprint, typically by altering methods of transportation, energy consumption, and thinking. Read more...
2001 Graduate Surprised by Rose Bowl Turnout
The famed Rose Bowl stadium, soon to be filled by frauds and bandwagon-jumpers, along with a smattering of real fans like Amanda Theether.
Pasadena, CA-- Amanda Theether ('01 - Industrial Engineering) made her first and probably last trip to see PSU play in a BCS bowl game when she attended last week's Rose Bowl. Although she had an "ok" time paying $1,000 for round trip airfare and $300 for a ticket, she just didn't except to see so many PSU fans.
"I was a big PSU football fan for the 4 years I went to PSU, and saw all the home games," said Theether. "Well, I mean, if you don't count the times we just pre-gamed and didn't go to the game at all, or the times when it was 21-0 after the first quarter and we just left to go downtown before halftime." Alumnus Attempts to Rekindle Lost Romance
Philadelphia, PA-- Although their relationship ended 10 years ago and lasted a mere 5 months, Scott Klemmens ('01 - Food Science) still has hopes of reviving the relationship he once shared with former love of his life Kathleen Mendelson ('00 - Communications).
Klemmens recounted their first encounter at a fraternity party in downtown State College during the former couple's Freshman year. "The Beast Ice was flowing, so I don't recall 100%, but I know I saw Kathleen there that night. The rest as they say is history, if you know what i mean, 'his story'." Read more...
