Visitor Ridiculed by Friend's Roommate

STATE COLLEGE, PA-- Mark Phillips (freshman - DUS) thought that his friend from home would enjoy a night out on the town this weekend; but a series of errors embarassed him.

Nathan Senft visited Penn State this weekend and caused his friend, PSU student Mark Phillips, unexpected embarassment. |
Mark explained, "The introduction didn't go too well. My roommate had one of
those ads about how 70% of Penn State students drink smart on his wall. He
asked, 'Does that mean to imply 70% of students drink, or that 70% of those
that already drink do it smartly?' Man, he was just trying to sound all smart since he was at a college. It was totally awkward.'"
"I first knew the night was going to be a failure as soon as we started to
hit up the frats. We were about to cross East College Ave, and my friend
checked both ways for traffic. I was so embarassed, and my roommate just
tore into him. It was horrible."
"The joke went on all night. We walked into the frat, and my roommate said
'Hey Nate, you better check both ways before you go down the stairs!' I
didn't really understand that, but I felt like a dumbass anyway."
The trip didn't go any better the next day, sadly.
"We were walking to the HUB and we passed Eisenhower Auditorium. Nate said
'President Eisenhower went here?' Oh man, did that suck. My roommate
absolutely schooled him on the history of Milton Eisenhower. Dwight
Eisenhower! Where the hell did he get that idea!?"
Mark has all but ruled out the possibility of asking his friends from
elsewhere to visit Penn State.
"If they can't get the basic facts about Penn State right, I don't want them
here," said Mark.
